Story Outline

As a mysterious new drug called ‘iris’ sweeps through a small town, four misfit teenagers’ risk everything to fit in. Debating wither or not to take it, Carla hesitates, not wanting to descend the same path as her mother whose long struggle with addiction made her childhood a living nightmare. 

Carla believes her Mum’s life is back on track and their relationship is beginning to heal. However, when a call from her estranged father reveals her mum has relapsed yet again, Carla’s whole world shatters. In a state of detachment, hurt and in despair, she turns to the drug to escape the pain.

The night spirals into chaos with vivid hallucinations merging two planes of existence. Unknowingly, they bridge a gap between our world and that of another and in doing so they unleash a malevolent entity.

When Carla finally makes it home, her mother is gone leaving her alone with her fractured mind. Or so she thinks.

As the high fades, she is left vulnerable, isolated, and consumed by the memories she’s tried all her life to supress. Carla faces the ultimate comedown – in the shadows of her darkest memories lurks a decaying presence – a grotesque manifestation of her childhood trauma, determined to claim her soul.
